Spotlight

The Deaf community is often excluded from accessing media; closed captioning is not sufficient. This applies to Deaf children who cannot read yet or read fast enough to keep up with captions, as well as Deaf adults who want to watch something in their native language. Signing is a language, not an accommodation.

How are you innovating to advance preventive medicine?

We are making media accessible to the deaf community by providing sign language interpretation. This includes developing a cutting-edge AI model trained on our proprietary database of the largest collection of sign language interpretations in the world, enabling high-accuracy, real-time interpretation across multiple sign languages.

How has Emergence contributed to your work?

Emergence has been the best part of my Stanford experience. The warmth and support that permeated the entire program made this experience unique. Each session encouraged us to share challenges and problem-solve, even though our industries were very diverse. It was special to have a community of other start-up founders at similar stages without the element of competition.

How did coaches, industry and investor collaborators impact your success?

The coaching was truly exceptional — thoughtful, consistent, and tailored to where I was with my start-up. As well as the highly experienced Emergence team, my mentor was instrumental in guiding my next steps - including fundraising, legal, and pitching. It is rare to find a community that pushes you to grow while also making you feel completely supported, and Emergence did exactly that.
