Spotlight

Fragmented healthcare workflows, poor food partner coordination and other challenges are impacting patient health outcomes. I knew there was a need to intervene. Nearly 50 million Americans face food insecurity and 49% have pre-diabetes or diabetes.

How are you innovating to advance preventive medicine?

We are working to solve food insecurity at the point of care. Our platform seamlessly integrates with electronic medical records (EMRs) to identify at-risk patients and connect them with localized food resources and assistance programs – in real time through a closed-loop referral process. This has resulted in a 30% reduction in emergency department visits and an 80% reduction in payer costs.

How has Emergence contributed to your work?

Emergence pushed me to grow not just my innovation, but myself as a founder. The program created the right mix of challenge and support, forcing me to think bigger, get clearer on our value proposition, and refine how I lead through ambiguity.

How did industry and investor collaborators impact your success?

The mentorship and peer networks were invaluable, and I left the program a stronger leader with sharper conviction.
