Christopher Knight

Chris is a Biology PhD Candidate and a Stanford Interdisciplinary Graduate Research Fellow. He was previously a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and a US Fulbright Fellow to Chile. Chris has earned an MS in Biology from San Diego State University, and a BA in Evolution, Ecology, and Biodiversity, as well as Spanish from the University of California, Davis.

About Understory

Chris is the Co-founder and COO of Understory, an AI powered platform that provides geospatial tracking and verification for nature. Data-driven roadmaps help people manage land, preserve biodiversity, and tackle climate change more effectively. Understory uses a combination of drone and satellite imagery to identify vegetation down to the species level and quantify biological data. over the lifespan of an intervention or initiative.
