Stanford Faculty, Students, and Researchers are passionate about translating their research to solving global challenges in Planet and Societal Health more than ever before. We aim to provide funding for research in these areas and create a pipeline of such innovations.

The Emergence Program at the BioE department convenes an in depth understanding of biology and the solution-oriented mindset of engineering to tackle these challenges. We will also collaborate with other initiatives underway on campus to organize and enhance Stanford contributions in these areas. We aim to combine ethical entrepreneurship, Planet and Societal Health focus, BioEngineering, and Entrepreneurial ecosystem building.

We will be collaborating with the following on campus initiatives in these areas in developing our programs:

  • Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment
  • Emmett Interdisciplinary Program in Environment and Resources (E-IPER)
  • Task force for School of Sustainability
  • Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB): CES (Center for Entrepreneurial Studies) and CSI (Center for Social Innovation)
  • Stanford Technology Ventures Program (STVP)
