Farzaan Kaiyom

Farzaan is a Master's student in Computer Science at Stanford, where he also completed his Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science. Farzaan has previously worked in machine learning research and deployment at Stanford (HAI and CRFM), IBM, and Payjoy (more specifically on knowledge graphs and large language models). He also previously co-founded a venture-backed digital health company. He is passionate about using machine learning to solve societal problems and mitigating societal harms stemming from machine learning models. He co-founded Beaker to help consumers and businesses shop more ethically and sustainably.

Beaker helps people and businesses shop more responsibly by providing ratings/recommendations based on the impacts of products on people and the planet. Utilizing advancements in web scraping and large language models, Beaker aggregates information to rate brands and products on a transparent scale, This process creates a rich dataset and allows Beaker platform users to understand the impacts of their purchases and easily find alternatives.
